Huey arrived at Unbridled in May of 2019. His racing career never got started, after he contracted Sweeney shoulder – a condition caused due to muscle wasting after the suprascapular nerve has been damaged. In his case, it was likely caused by getting kicked in the shoulder as a yearling at the New York farm where he was foaled.
Huey’s penchant for getting into things with little to no concept of personal space has earned him the nickname “Mr. Nosy.” Still, he is very much adored by our sanctuary staff. On New Year’s Day of 2023, Huey and the other residents welcomed his dam, Baby Cindy, to the ranch.
True to his personality, Huey has bounced around when it comes to pasture pals, but lately has been hanging out with fellow chestnut, Deron’s Diva.
We would love to secure Huey’s heart-human, so if you have an interest in supporting him, wholly or partially, please drop us a note at unbridledspirits@gmail.com. A one-time donation would also be very much appreciated. Just click on the “Donate” button below.
