Mucho Chrome arrived at his forever home from California in February of 2020, thanks in large part to an ambitious social media campaign to rehome him at Unbridled Spirits.
Mucho has a large personality and makes friends with all the horses, as well as barn cats! He's very playful and splashy to look at with his signature chrome. He is a barn baby, though, and loves his stall and his grain bowl. He spends most of his time with Majestic Spring, Pansamante and Native Ruler.
Mucho Chrome comes from an impressive male line, as his sire, Macho Uno, was a winner of multiple graded stakes races, including the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile at Churchill Downs on Nov. 4, 2000. His grandfather is Holy Bull, who captured Horse of the Year honors in 1994, after winning five Grade 1 events as a 3-year-old. Holy Bull was later inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2001.
As a racer, himself, Mucho competed exclusively in California, including starts at Del Mar and Santa Anita Park. For his career, the chestnut gelding hit the board in seven of 13 starts, earning over $66,000.
