This California bred has settled in quite nicely at her forever home, after facing some challenges early in life.
Naggedy Ann started her race training at Canterbury Park in Minnesota, where she unfortunately bowed a tendon during a workout in 2018, bringing an abrupt end to her career on the track before it could get started.
After recovering from her injury, Naggedy was rehomed through a racehorse adoption program, but was returned to the organization, after being unsuccessfully placed with a young and inexperienced horse owner. Sensing that a secondary career might not be in Naggedy’s best interest, her owners retook possession of her, in hopes of eventually sending her to Unbridled.
In June of last year, that goal was realized when Naggedy arrived at our sanctuary and was reunited with her dam, Nagahyde. Although Naggedy doesn't hang out much anymore with her mama, she spends a lot of time with pasture pals Machine Gun Merry, Terra Luna and White Pass, a group we call “The Book Club Ladies." Naggedy has also been working with our on-site trainers, Paul (pictured) and Kristen.
We'd love to secure a regular sponsor for Naggedy, so if you have an interest, please contact us at unbridledspirits@gmail.com. If a one-time donation works better, click on the "Donate" button below.
