Pansamante

“Pansy” has been in Cupid’s crosshairs, ever since her arrival at the ranch in December of 2021.

Prior to joining our sanctuary, this Texas-bred mare was pasture mates at her previous residence with two other “old ladies,” and was described as being somewhat of a grump. 

But after her reintroduction to boys at Unbridled, especially resident gelding Native Ruler (pictured on the right with her), Pansy’s quiet confidence has shown through in her increased interaction with humans.

As a racer, Pansy had two wins in 18 lifetime starts. Both of her victories came at Turf Paradise in Phoenix. Osselets in her ankles, however, forced an early retirement from the track.

As a broodmare, she had three foals, and was reunited with one of them, the late Joan of Arlington, at Unbridled Spirits.
