One of our three resident Standardbreds, Red Time arrived at Unbridled Spirits in July, 2017, after being foaled, trained and raced on the East Coast. As the “boss mare” of the herd, she is intelligent, curious, patient and a good leader.
She has had her patience tested with one of our more recent additions, however. One of the Texas kill pen rescues, Ellie, has quite the dominant personality and will invade Red Time’s personal space at the round bale. Red Time, every once in a while, doesn’t challenge the youngster, but typically she will pin her ears back to “clear the zone.”
Red Time loves affection, almost as much as she cherishes carrots, and spends her days mostly hanging with her best pal, I Am Awesome (pictured on the left with Red Time), but also has a soft spot for fellow Standardbred, Air Traffic Control, with whom she has a history, dating back to their barn mate days at the track.
We’re very grateful to Unbridled Board member Marisa Gibbons, and her husband, Jim, for pledging regular support for Red Time.
